2009 Maintaining Historic Urban Parks Workshop August 17, 2009

About the Workshop
The 3-day workshop will focus on the skills and qualifications needed for the effective maintenance and stewardship of historic urban parks. Through classroom instruction, field sessions and behind-the-scenes tours, nationally recognized speakers will address best practices, techniques and challenges throughout the preservation process, including:
- preservation planning;
- revitalization and restoration;
- long-term maintenance and operation of the site;
with a focus on balancing preservation goals with contemporary management needs.

Field landscape maintenance staff, mid-level managers, parks stewards, design professionals and contractors involved in the care and preservation of historic urban parks and landscapes.
