Angel investment strategies in clean tech will be the topic for this month’s Nano Bio Clean Tech Forum on Tuesday, May 20, sponsored by the Clean Tech Institute in conjunction with the International Association of Nanotechnology.

How do you identify a good business model for investment? What are some of the nuances and trends in angel clean tech investment? What’s the best way to secure funding from an angel investment firm? What’s the difference between angel investors and venture capitalists? These are only some of the questions that will be addressed during this interactive forum.

Our guest speakers for the event include Nicola Corzine, deal manager for the Band of Angels. She is the founder and executive director of Financing Partners, an organization offering specific programs designed to help entrepreneurs and investors reach their mutual objectives. Nicola has a broad background in investor relations and marketing at both startup companies such as Digital Integrity and financial institutions, including Credit Suisse First Boston.
Rick DeGolia, an angel investor with The Angels’ Forum, will also serve as a guest presenter during the event. He has raised more than $6 million in venture funding, and was responsible for defining Apptera’s overall business strategy. He also served as a partner with Wilson, Sonsini, Goodrich & Rosati, where he represented clients through formation, private financings and initial public offerings in the software, semiconductor and telecommunications industries.
The forum will be held from 5:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. at the IANANO headquarters, 1290 Parkmoor Ave., San Jose. Networking will take place from 5:30 p.m.-6 p.m., prior to the start of the program.
