Charles Kruger: "Shamanic Inspirations" July 23, 2008

"Shamanic Inspirations”, a solo installation by emerging artist Charles Kruger, will be presented at The Marsh Theater Cafe/Gallery, 1070 Valencia Street, from July 15 through August 31. An artist’s reception will be held on Wednesday, July 23, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Mr. Kruger, an oblate of Incarnation Benedictine Monastery in Berkeley, utilizes shamanic practice and meditation in creating both large and small canvasses depicting interior landscapes and spirit helpers. He is a schoolteacher, actor and published poet who began painting shortly after his 50th birthday and has since created a dynamic body of work in an expressionistic style. He is a member of The Art Explosion studios where he has participated in Open Studios for the past two years. "Shamanic Inspirations" is his first solo show.
