Have you ever wondered what Christmas is like in other countries? Check out how we’ve adopted some of Norway’s holiday traditions and made them our own by making delightful decorations.

Our Christmas in Norway celebration forms part of Seasons of Sharing, Houston’s only multicultural holiday exhibit for children spotlighting seven cultural celebrations, on display Nov. 14 through Jan. 10.

 Norwegian Christmas Ornament: Weave a traditional heart basket Christmas ornament in the style of those used in Norway to decorate the trees.
 Paper Snowflakes: Fold and cut your paper to make fanciful snowflake designs reminiscent of the weather in Norway at Christmastime.
 Yule Log: Decorate your own Yule log to mark the Christmas holiday the way they do in Norway.
 Cutting Up (Mon Kirr): What kind of neat designs and patterns can you make in creating these symmetrical snowflakes?

 Engineering Light and Shadow: Come explore with light and shadow! Engineer your own scenes using familiar items as well as fascinating things that sparkle, glow, shine, and reflect light.
Friday & Saturday, November 27-28: 10:30 a.m., 12:30, 2:30, & 4:30 p.m.
