Two of Houston's coolest blues cats are at the Big Easy tonight. In case you missed these young men and their fabulous and talented friends last time - you really need to hit the show tonight. Earl Gilliam and his Blues Revue will be hosting the Houston Blues Society Monthly Jam at The Big Easy tonight from 9:30 p.m. until 1:30 a.m. blues hounds, do not miss this one!! You play the blues? Beginning at 10 p.m. you are welcome to join in and jam. Please be sure to visit the merchandise/membership table. Earl has played with Lightnin' Hopkins, Joe Guitar Hughes, Johnny Clyde Copeland, Clarence Gatemouth Brown and T-Bone Walker among others. He first recorded in 1955 on Sarg Records (Willie Nelson and Doug Sahm's first label) as one of only two Black artists on the label at the time. I.J., a session player with historic Duke-Peacock Records in Houston during the 50's and 60's has an impressive background, as well.
