Think you know John Adams, founding father and America's second president? Did you know that he doodled pictures of ships in his books? Stuck pressed leaves between their pages? Hoped to drop out of school at 13? Or collected over 3,000 books during his lifetime? John Adams’s own books tell the tale: come hear their incredible stories as they dish on their famous owner, including his (often grumpy) handwritten notes in the margins, unexpected titles in the collection, and rare and really valuable volumes. Join Beth Prindle, curator of the Adams Library at the Boston Public Library, for cool treasures, surprising facts, and an inside look at Adams and his lifelong passion for reading.

**John Adams Unbound has been organized by the Boston Public Library and the American Library Association Public Programs Office. This traveling exhibition has been made possible by a major grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities: great ideas brought to life.
