Local Retrospective with Malik Moore August 24, 2012

Local Retrospective takes a closer look at the work of local artists who are constantly adding to the richness of the music scene here in L.A. Tonight, the spotlight is on Malik Moore, one of the shining stars of The Lions (members of Breakestra, Rhythm Roots All-Stars, Poetics and Macy Gray) and songwriter for The Bullets (with Aggrolite Organist Roger Rivas), both true staples of the Los Angeles Reggae scene. For years Malik has quietly been writing and performing genre-exploring songs and collaborating with his peers, creating a body of work that is wide and diverse, but tonight, he’s going to step into the foreground. When accompanied by a full band, Malik’s detailed, nuanced songwriting and arrangement, and his long-quiet voice take center stage.
