Monmouth Women's Festival celebrates women's achievements locally and throughout the world

Our opening night kicks off at The Savoy with the amazing Pam Ayres famous for her poetry and humour. The following night Prue Leith speaks to us about her life as a celebrity chef and her new found passion as a novelist! On Sunday Mavis Nicholson, one of Wale's best loved writers speaks to us about her childhood in Wales.

During the week we have countless events ranging from workshops to fashion shows, gardening talks and tastings. They are spread throughout the day and evening and many of them are free!
From the world of literature Pascale Petit - who teaches poetry at The Tate Modern discusses her poetry about the work of Frida Kahlo and Menna Elfyn reads poetry in both English and Welsh - for beginners and the more fluent Welsh speakers alike!
Finally on Saturday night, Tricia Stewart the original Calendar Girl joins us to talk about her inspirational path to becoming a leading charity fundraiser - followed by a showing of the movie in which her part is played by Helen Mirren. A great girls night out!

All details can be found on our website or through the printed programmes available in Monmouth High Street.
