After 10 years, might Freedom Skate end? Well, if it does, skate the last and savor the memories.

One week earlier than in past, two weekends before July 4, but like previous years, all skates begin and end at the Sheraton University City. There at the hub of all activity, enjoy the pool, the parties, and the short walk to the many restaurants and hang-outs near the University of Pennsylvania.

Words cannot describe how it feels to skate with over 400 others through downtown streets, at night, on smooth big-city asphalt, inside pedestrian subway tunnels, into scenic suburban neighborhoods, nor how it feels to roll by the many symbolic and historic sights in Philadelphia. They cannot tell how it feels to bomb down the hills, and then to relax by and cool in the pool, high on endorphins earned from miles and miles of skating. From Friday evening to Sunday afternoon, we venture out on four skates, from easy to vigorous, from roughly 6 miles to over 20.

Then when it's done, the friends you make there, you'll find here at Upcoming, Friendster, Multiply, and Tribe.

Keep skating!
