Workshop Descriptions

Choose from one of the following three tracks of training. Each track runs from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. andis worth six (6) clock hours of required state continuing education for early childhood professionals. There is a 45 minute break from 12:15 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Lunch is not provided.

Management Track

Customer Service for the Center Administrator

Want to increase you business and build customer loyalty? In todays tough market, customer service is the place to start. Learn what it takes to give consistent excellence in customer service in our industry and come away with practical tips and strategies for training staff in the same basics of client services.

Directing Your Centers Destiny

The direction of the center is largely determined by the attitudes, choices, and energy of the center director and owner. This workshop examines the role managers play in helping their center develop to its fullest potential. Specific attention is given to the life cycle of the center, the stages of director development, needs assessment, and self-assessment.

The Miracle Manager: Time Management for Center Administrators

Center managers face unique time challenges. Getting it all done in a day is often difficult, if not down right impossible! This workshop is designed to help administrators evaluate how they spend their time, distinguish between purpose and priority as it relates to their job and time management, and discover ways to squeeze more in a day with less stress and frustration.

Guidance Track:

Creating a Cooperative Classroom Learn to bring out the best in your little ones as you discuss the common discipline challenges and solutions for setting the stage for co-operative behavior. Come away with ideas to reduce the number of conflicts and tantrums in your little ones.

Calming Down and Cooling Off What to do when conflict Arises Even the most cooperative children have a horrible, terrible, no good, very bad day sometimes. Learn strategies for helping them calm down and cool off when frustrations get high. Youll come away with strategies for anger management that you can apply immediately to your classroom.

Creating Circle Times That Kids Want to Come To-
Keeping circle time meaningful and fun for children can be a challenge. Like it or not, teachers compete with toys, other children, television, and video attractions for their preschoolers attention. Spice up your mornings and group times with activities that engage and excite your little ones. Learn the dos and donts of developmentally appropriate circle time and come away with new songs and finger plays to jazz up your program

Curriculum Track:

Cranium Craze!! How Children Develop Intelligence (Part One and Two)
What we do in our centers with every age group from infants to school agers can set the stage for success for the future for their learning and thinking. Learn what matters most at what age, and take away strategies for building your program to promote maximum thinking in your little ones. This four hour workshop takes a practical look at how what we do daily impacts future learning, and sends participants home with a gameplan for helping every child reach their learning potential.

Creative Activities for Spring!-Liven up your learning centers for Spring!! Refresh your knowledge of how young children learn and go back with lots of activities that stimulate thinkers and keep their natural curiosity aroused. Go home with lots of ideas for the season designed to stimulate their emerging skills.

Returned Check Policy: All returned checks are subject to a $30 processing fee. All returned checks will automatically be reprocessed with the fee included.
Refund/Cancellation Policy and Photo Release: All refunds will be in the form of training credit. No monetary refunds! Cancellations must be in writingyour photo reproduced, inf and faxed 48 hours prior to seminar to receive credit. Teachers who miss training due to a documentable emergency may submit a request for training credit the following work day after missed training, and call that day for a confirmation number. In the unlikely event that Early Connections reschedules or cancels a training event, centers will receive double training credit. No monetary refunds will be processed. Please note that photos may be taken and used for promotional materials at this training. If you do not want your picture taken, please inform your instructor in writing at the event.

Childcare policy: To maintain a high quality training event, please make child care arrangements in advance. Children are not allowed in training sessions!
