January 18, Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto, 105 St. George Street

You are invited to take part in the next session in our ongoing Rotman Design Thinking Speaker Series, which showcases leading design thinkers. Organizations can no longer count on quality, performance or price alone to sustain leadership in the global marketplace. Design has emerged as a new competitive weapon and key driver of innovation. At Rotman, we see great value in the designer's approach to solving problems -- the integrative way of thinking and problem-solving that can be applied to all components of business.

Registration will be available on January 18 from 4:30pm until 4:55pm. At 5:00pm sharp our esteemed guest speaker, Prof. Alex Manu, Founder and Director, Beal Institute for Strategic Creativity, Ontario College of Art and Design, will make a presentation titled "The Imagination Challenge: Strategic Foresight and Innovation in the Global Economy". This is the same title of a terrific new book by Alex which will be published later this month. Alex will speak for about 50 minutes and answer questions for 20-30 minutes. A cocktail reception will follow until 7:30pm. A short biography of Alex and a synopsis of his new book are pasted below. The sponsors of the speaker series are our Desautels Centre for Integrative ThinkingT and DesignworksT @ Rotman. The sponsor of this session is the Beal Institute for Strategic Creativity. Signed first-edition copies of the book will be available for sale at the event for $39.99 plus GST.

The fee to participate on January 18 is $49 per person plus GST. For alumni of the Rotman School or the University of Toronto or the Ontario College of Art and Design, the fee is $39 per person plus GST. You may wish to bring a client or colleague. Dress is business casual. Underground parking is available. The entrance is just south of the Rotman School.
