Join Vocalist Kat Parra's for a special concert of new music entitled "The Sephardic Music Experience".
They will be performing works from her new CD, "Dos Amanates".

Kat was awarded a Zellerbach Foundation Grant specificially for the her exploration and development of new Sephardic musical material for concert performances. Four renowned arrangers have taken ancient sephardic songs from the middle ages and modernized them using elements of jazz, afro-cuban, middle-eastern and afro-peruvian music. Kat sings all the material in the original Ladino language of the ancient Sephardic jews.

Kat Parra was voted Best Latin Jazz Vocalist of 2008 by Latin Jazz Corner and her CD Azucar de Amor was nominated for the 2009 Latin Jazz Album of the Year by the Jazz Journalists Association. Parra has performed at Jazz festivals in Brazil, Mexico, Chicago, and the San Francisco Bay Area.

The band also features Peter Barshay (bass), Murray Low (piano), and Paul Van Wageningen (drums).
