VOLUNTEER: National Public Lands Day
9/27/2008 10:00 AM

Join us as we celebrate National Public Lands Day and clean up the headwaters of the East Fork of the Lewis River. Help restore streamside vegetation and repair area trails and facilities.

This is a continuation of the Mount St. Helens Institute's ongoing effort to Take Back the East Fork and create a clean, green, family friendly atmosphere along one of our most heavily used river corridors. Volunteers should bring work gloves and come prepared for rain or shine weather.

The work party will be followed by a Volunteer barbecue and potluck and all volunteers will receive an REI "Pitch In" t-shirt.
Location: Sunset Falls Day Use Area, Gifford Pinchot National Forest, just 1 hour from Portland.
Contact: For further information email [email protected] or call (360) 449-7887.
Cost: Free
Registration Required? Yes. Pre-registration is not required and last-minute volunteers are welcome to show up and register on the morning of each event. An RSVP is a great help when we prepare the day's tools and supplies and guarantees you will receive a NW Forest Day pass on the day of the event.
