World War II Weekend April 15, 2011

Learn the drills for survival in our wartime workshop and learn about life under threat of attack. Visit our Forester’s war exhibition with original WWII memorabilia and vehicles on display.

The WWII weekend which opens the Forester's War exhibition will see the DHC transformed to a time of identity cards, air raids and rationing. Visitors will be directed to reception to purchase an admission card which they will be required to get stamped at various check points. While onsite they will be provided with the skills for survival with workshops ranging from how to ‘make do and mend’ to procedures for an air raid. There will be original vehicles and a wartime menu on offer in the café.
