The WTIA is pleased to bring to the Puget Sound a comprehensive look at Cloud Computing. Through this multi part series attendees will learn both fundamental and advanced concepts of Cloud Computing as seen through the eyes of industry leaders.

Cloud Computing is the buzz of the industry. Whether as a way to lower computing costs, test an application, or provide a more scalable solution, Cloud Computing offers a whole range of new opportunities for software developers and IT professionals. Anyone running a web service business or managing an IT enterprise system should understand the opportunities and challenges of this new computing model.

Part II - Scaling into the Cloud with Amazon Web Services

Join us at Amazon.com Headquarters and hear how Amazon Web Services is innovating in cloud computing with their suite of infrastructure services. Adam Selipsky, VP, Amazon Web Services will provide a overview of their services, focusing on their latest releases, and discuss the technical and business benefits of scaling into the cloud.

Two AWS customers will also share their experiences:

Todd Fasullo, Director of Operations, Smartsheet will discuss their uses of Amazon S3, CloudFront, and Mechanical Turk to power Smartsheet’s work management and collaboration tools.

Mike Harrington, Co-Founder, Picnik, will discuss how they use Amazon EC2 and the rest of the AWS suite to run their web-based photo editing tools.

After the customer presentations, you will have an opportunity to ask questions of all presenters in an open Q&A session.
